Everyone’s favorite artist’s favorite artist Chappell Roan took to social media today to announce her new organization, “The Midwest Princess Project.” Roan founded the organization to “uplift trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities through action, care, and connection.”

The project has already raised over $400,000 at Roan’s Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things Pop-Up Shows earlier this month in Missouri, NYC, and LA. In her post, the pop-star wrote, “Outside of transaction fees to host the donation page and limited costs for my team to effectively manage the project, we have committed to donating every dollar possible to the organizations that need it most.”

Local organizations receiving the donations are Missouri’s The GLO Center and The Center Project, Los Angeles’ The Trans Wellness Center and The TransLatin@ Coalition, and New York City’s The Ali Forney Center and The Center.

The Midwestern superstar has made it a point to give back to the LGBTQ+ community throughout her meteoric rise to fame, giving props to the drag queens and trans people who have inspired her, making sure queer fans feel safe at her shows, and remaining unabashedly queer.

This news comes only a week after the Sabrina Carpenter Fund chose the Transgender Law Center and The LGBT National Help Center as recipients of funds raised on her Short n’ Sweet Tour. We love to see pop girlies using their platform!

You can donate to the Midwest Princess Project through their website and keep up with their work on their official social media.
