And reveals Johnny Depp was ‘driven crazy by jealousy.’

Cara Delevingne is setting the record straight on the rumors that she and Amber Heard once had a thing.

The model-turned-actress-turned-singer recently stopped by The Louis Theroux Podcast to chat about her career and life. At one point, Theroux asked whether they were going to “mention the Johnny Depp thing,” referencing how The Lone Ranger star was “driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with [Cara].”

“It’s because we did a movie together and it was called London Fields,” Delevingne said. “I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy, I suppose.”

Depp’s jealousy and anger issues were repeatedly called into question during the very public spectacle of the couple’s divorce, Depp’s failed UK lawsuit against The Sun for calling him a “wife beater,” and his lawsuit against Heard in the U.S. for defamation.

Rumors that Heard and Delevingne had a relationship also circulated during that time. Speculation was further fueled when Ashley Benson, who dated Delevingne from 2018 to 2020, vocally supported Depp on social media during and after the trial against Heard.

Speaking with Theroux, Delevingne clarified that although she and Heard were “close for a long time,” there was nothing going on between them during the production of London Fields or during Heard’s relationship with Depp.

“When they were going through the divorce, we were entangled, I suppose,” she added.

Delevingne frames the “entanglement” as a casual and fleeting thing, noting that Heard was also seeing other people at the time. Her account also appears to dispel previous speculation that the two were romantically involved while either was in a monogamous relationship.

Although this particular detour into Delevingne’s romantic history is the one making headlines, the larger podcast episode dives into her experiences getting sober and embracing her sexuality. It’s fully worth the watch and can be found on Spotify.
