All Things Go was nicknamed “Lesbopalooza” and “Gaychella” when the music festival dropped a stellar lineup of queer artists – and let’s just say it did not disappoint. From Reneé Rapp and MUNA to Ethel Cain and Janelle Monáe, the show promised something for every type of queer music lover.
The two-day festival took over the gay internet and quickly sold out tickets. It has been held in Washington D.C. since 2014 and to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, All Things Go took took an additional lineup on the road. They premiered in New York City for the first time last weekend, selling out Forest Hills Stadium.
Reneé Rapp gave an iconic performance to the jam-packed crowd in NYC Saturday. She brought out the Resistance Revival Chorus, a group of “women and non-binary artists and activists singing in the spirit of joy and resistance,” to sing “Snow Angel.” Of course, she also shared the stage with her boo, Towa Bird, who opened the NYC show that morning. The two shared a kiss onstage during “Tummy Hurts,” causing fans to erupt in cheers.
Saturday’s NYC lineup also blessed us with a jaw-dropping performance by MUNA. Lead singer Katie appeared onstage in a teeny bodysuit and trench coat, causing lesbian panic heard across the five boroughs. The band surprised the crowd and brought out their friend Lucy Dacus during “Silk Chiffon.” MUNA also performed an impromptu dedication to Chappell Roan, who announced Friday that she would be pulling out of the festival to prioritize her health. Katie and Jo grabbed acoustic guitars and Naomi showed off her soprano voice for their version of “Good Luck, Babe.”
Janelle Monáe showed off a stunning flower ensemble, serving strong Georgia O’Keefe vibes. The “Make Me Feel” singer shuffled across stage in poufy petal-like pants and a matching headpiece. Monáe eventually stripped down to a black bodysuit with flower boots and a flower hat. Our floral queen brought a few lucky fans onstage to share the love.
Julien Baker, Ethel Cain, Maisie Peters, Remi Wolf, Laufey, Conan Gray, Maren Morris, Hozier, Holly Humberstone, Del Water Gap, and Bleachers were also among the massive line-up of performers that took over NYC and D.C. last weekend.
All Things Go is already looking forward to next year’s experience, although they have not confirmed whether the festival will return to New York.
“10,000 likes and we’ll make it even gayer for ATG 2025,” the festival tweeted out Monday. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store.
