5 Things To Do In Queerantine This Weekend

This weekend in queerantine, sweat it out on the dance floor at Club Quarantine, Yes Homo, and more.

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, GO Mag will be gathering the best queer and lesbian virtual events on the weekends in lieu of our regular weekend event round-ups.

This week in queerantine, we’re all fed up with COVID-19 and need some catharsis (and a drink), yes? Here’s a roundup focused on virtual queer parties and nightlife events, so you can sweat it out on the dance floor. Dress up or stay in your PJs, no one’s judging.

Club Quarantine

Club Quarantine is an online queer party that takes place every. single. night of the quarantine from 9 p.m. to midnight EST, and on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to midnight EST. That’s a lot of virtual queer partying, ya’ll. With over 47,000 followers on IG, it’s easy to see why this event has taken off — it’s one of the closest things we’ve got to a regular queer bar right now. Every night features something different, so it’s inclusive of all manner of queer folk. Past performers have included Rebecca Black, Charli XCX, and Tinashe, and the party has been dubbed “Zoom’s Hottest Club.” See the Club Q Instagram page for Zoom links and more info.

Yes Yes Ya’ll 11th Anniversary Jam

Yes Yes Ya’ll is a world-famous inclusive dancehall party based in Toronto, and this Friday at 9 p.m. EST they’re hosting a virtual party to celebrate their 11th anniversary. The event is hosted by the inimitable Donté Colley, whose inspiring dance videos you have definitely seen on your timeline. Featuring Bambii, Nino Brown, Tamika, and more, with drag performances too. The Zoom link for the party will be announced via their Instagram page tonight.

Queerantine Moment #3

Queer Moment is a Los Angeles party that spotlights local queer musicians. They’ve been taking the party to the internet since COVID-19 and it is a good queer time. Queerantine Moment #3 takes place all weekend, from Friday through Sunday, every night at 7 p.m. PST. Performers include Kaleena Zanders, Polartropica, and Disco Shrine. Donations go toward keeping LA queer spaces alive. Just tune into the Queer Moment Instagram Live to watch!

Big Freedia’s Friday Night Shakedown

NOLA bounce and LGBTQ+ icon Big Freedia hosts this weekly party every single Friday night at 9 p.m. EST. If you really need a reason to shake your ass, this is it. Between the energetic music and Big Freedia herself, you won’t be able to resist joining in. Stream her show from either Instagram or Facebook.

Yes Homo Queer Digital Dance Party

Yes Homo, a Brooklyn-based queer dance party, is back for another virtual edition this Saturday at 7 p.m. EST! Hosted by Mini Horrorwitz with tunes by DJ Sean MacMahill, plus some ~surprise special guests~. Funds go toward supporting the usual venue for the event, C’mon Everybody. Join the party via Zoom here.
