Lindsay first started talking to Renee on a dating site—or so she thought.

“Lindsay matched with a fake profile of me,” said Renee, the frontwoman for post-punk band Fit for Rivals. “She picked up on the ruse and found the real me on Instagram instead.”

Six months and more than a few direct messages later, the two “hit it off” and met in person.

“It was perfect timing,” Renee said. “I was off tour and in a great place, open to whatever life threw my way, and she was the same.”

The two were separated by miles at first (“Moving to an-other state was a pain,” Lindsay said, “But worth it.”), but now they live together and are “ready for [their] next adventure.”

“She’s made me into a better human being with her patience, kindness, and understanding,” Renee said.

“She makes me laugh and my heart happy,” Lindsay said. “I like that I can be myself around her.”

The couple has discussed the idea of marriage and “are definitely into it,” with future plans for at least one child and the hope to be “living in the mountains and growing weed.”

What they value most, and will continue to hold onto, is open communication.

“And being mindful of each other,” Renee said. “Starting from a healthy place.”
