100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Kate Clinton

Rachel Maddow calls Kate Clinton’s new book, I Told You So, “true, terrifying, and coffee-out-your-nose funny.” And most people describe Kate that way, too! A political humorist and entertainer, Clinton still believes that “humor gets us through peacetime, wartime, and scoundrel time.” Always staying current, she tours the United States and Canada this year with Yes on K8, promising to “tickle your stimulus package” and provide some “restoration comedy.” With 28 years of performing, eight comedy collections, and a Best Audiobooks Award under her belt, Clinton shows no signs of slowing down. She continually showcases her hilarious and free-association style sense of smarts. In addition to her award-winning blog, CommuniKate, and weekly vlog on kateclinton.com, Kate now blogs and vlogs on various political and gay websites. -KD

Remember, these are in no particular order because we love them all!
