That roaring sound you’re hearing is every Gen X sapphic losing their minds.

Alanis Morissette decided there was something we “oughta know”: She’s family. The “Ironic” singer opened up about her sexuality during the Nov. 3 episode of the Handsome podcast.

The revelation occurred as the hosts were closing out a segment with the singer, when co-host Fortune Feimster joked with Morissette about the troubled dating history that inspired much of the singer’s music.

“I’m sorry for the men that hurt you, but I’m not sorry for the songs that came from it,” Feimster joked, adding, “Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point?”

“I’m pansexual, so, yeah,” Morissette said, prompting co-host Tig Notaro to follow up by asking if she meant it. Morissette confirmed: “I am.”

Consider this another reason to add Morissette to the sapphic playlist.
