Brandi Carlile Announces 2027 Lineup For Girls Just Wanna Weekend
The lesbian-loved festival is back for its eighth year headlined by Carlile, Kelly Clarkson, Sierra Ferrell and more.
The line-up for Brandi Carlile’s eighth annual Girls Just Wanna Weekend has just been announced, and it’s as queer as ever.
The 2027 festival will take place in Riviera Maya, Mexico, from January 14-18. Carlile herself will be headlining, of course, joined by Kelly Clarkson, Sierra Ferrell, The Beaches, and CMAT. Additional performers include Allison Russell, Brandy Clark, Autumn Nicholas, comedian Kristin Key, and more.
“The kellyoke this year will be out of control,” Carlile joked on Instagram, referencing a popular segment on Kelly Clarkson’s recently-ended talk show where the American Idol legend flawlessly covered various songs.
Since it began back in 2019, Girls Just Wanna Weekend has become a destination festival that centers female and non-binary artists, with a particular emphasis on queer-inclusion. Previous performers have included Shania Twain, The Chicks, Sam Smith, Muna, and more. A rundown of the 2025 festival by Variety paints it as a place where women—particularly lesbians—can feel comfortable and surrounded by community.
“I get messages on Instagram from people that say it’s the one place where they can go and really be themselves,” Clark previously said. “I remember Brandi saying the first year that I was here that it’s the festival where, if you lose your child, you don’t have to worry. They’ll come back with sunscreen and a snack.”
In addition to musical performances, previous iterations of the event have included movie screenings, cooking classes, book events, yoga, workshops, and more, often led by special guests. The festival takes over the Barceló Maya Resort, with nightly performances at the main stage and daily live sets at the pool stage with swim-up bars.
Ticket packages are currently available via the Girls Just Wanna Weekend website, where this slogan pretty much sums it all up: “Brandi Land Awaits.”
