Are Madeleine McGraw and Xochitl Gomez Working on a Sapphic Project Together?
An Instagram post has fans asking questions.
Madeleine McGraw has fans speculating about the possibility of a new queer project in the works after a cryptic Instagram post.
On Monday, McGraw posted a blurry black and white photo that showed her kissing longtime friend and fellow actress Xochitl Gomez. Although Gomez wasn’t tagged, fans who follow the two quickly figured out it was her, and Gomez effectively confirmed as much by reposting the picture to her own Instagram Stories.
Needless to say, the image immediately left fans with questions.
“Maddy, you got some explaining to tell ALLL OF US,” one person wrote.
“WLW?????? this is iconic,” said another.
It’s worth noting that McGraw and Gomez have been friends for years and regularly post content together on social media. McGraw’s caption on the photo may also give us a small clue as to what’s going on with this pic.
“and that’s a wrap,” she wrote.
The phrase is, of course, commonly used to mark the end of filming, and fans soon began speculating that McGraw and Gomez may have been working on a new project together, although nothing has been publicly announced as of yet.
“I desperately need to know what you’ve been filming now Maddy!” reads one comment.
McGraw most recently appeared in a Christmas movie called Double Trouble, released this month, and is set to star in an upcoming teen supernatural film called SuperUnknown. Gomez maintains a slate of upcoming projects, including ones in which she will reprise her role as America Chavez in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Without an official announcement, all we have now is speculation. Are they working on a short film? A music video? Whatever these two have cooking, clearly this one blurry photo is clearly enough to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
