Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan Are Teaming Up For “Expectations” Remix
The remix and music video are set to drop Thursday, October 15.
When Olivia Rodrigo sang “I’m not kissing any boys…” on her song “Expectations,” she may have meant it literally. Rodrigo announced that she and your favorite artists’ favorite artist Chappell Roan are teaming up for a remix of Rodrigo’s track from her latest album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. The remix and a music video are both set to come out this Thursday, October 15.
Roan and Rodrigo teased the collaboration on Rodrigo’s official fan instagram using a Heated Rivalry sound, so it might be safe to assume that the song might just get a bit gayer.
Rodrigo posted a teaser of the collaboration on Monday and it immediately sent sapphic fans into a spiral as they tried to imagine what Roan could add to the song.

The pop stars have a long history together as they both work exclusively with producer Dan Nigro. Roan even opened for Rodrigo’s “Guts” World Tour during her rise to superstardom and the two have continued to support each other since. This remix will serve as Roan’s first official feature with another artist though she has contributed backing vocals on Rodrigo’s projects.
Rodrigo has recently been making her way onto lesbian twitter. Videos of her and her lesbian guitarist, Daisy Spencer, interacting on stage have gone viral with fans beginning to ship them. Just last week, paparazzi photos of Rodrigo captured what appeared to be a lesbian flag picture texted to someone from the singer’s phone. Later that same night, Rodrigo was seated at the New York Liberty’s final game of the season. Olivia, if you’re sending messages to the sapphics, they are noticing.
