We’re already cheering for the Brovaries!

Since it was announced last year, sapphics have been eagerly awaiting news on the lesbian softball comedy series Slo Pitch, and today we finally know the series is coming to Crave on September 25. It also dropped a hilarious trailer that only has us more hyped for the show.

The mockumentary comedy follows a lovably queer beer league called the Brovaries. This underdog team is hell-bent on making it to the championship this season. The series will follow the friendships, romances, struggles, and queer joy throughout the season, through what the press release describes as “a unique Canadian lens.” We can’t wait.

It centers around Coach Joanne Pico (Jess Salgueiro), whose life is turned upside down when she is suddenly and shockingly dumped by her longtime girlfriend, who adds to the heartbreak by joining a rival softball team. This leaves Joanne with a new mission: proving everyone wrong. How? By leading her team to the beer league championship.

Starring alongside Salgueiro are Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Chelsea Muirhead, Emma Hunter, Lane Webber, Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah, Amanda Cordner, and forever fave Emily Hampshire.

Obviously, we can’t wait to see it, but the question is: Where is it airing? Currently, it’s only set to stream in Canada, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. But if, like Heated Rivalry, this show garners enough buzz, we can hope it will similarly find U.S. distribution.

In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
