World Cup Champion Ali Krieger Joins New Season of ‘The Amazing Race’
The two-time World Cup Champion will be joined by former NWSL player Joanna Lohman in the competition for the $1 million dollar prize.
As if two World Cup championships, a Champions League Title, and an NWSL title weren’t enough, USWNT star Ali Krieger is set to compete in Season 39 of competition show The Amazing Race.
Joined by former NWSL and UWSNT player Joanna Lohman, the pair will compete against 12 other teams for the $1 million dollar prize.
“One of the toughest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most incredible and unforgettable experiences of my life. We laughed, pushed ourselves outside our comfort zones, and made memories together that I’ll cherish forever,” Krieger wrote on social media.
“Getting to do it alongside Jo made it that much more special. Two former pro footballers, two queer women, two moms, two Penn Staters getting the opportunity to take on this crazy adventure together. I’m so proud of what we represent and that we get to show up exactly as we are on a stage like this. ❤️⚽️🏳️🌈💪🏽” she added.
This season’s race will begin in Vancouver and airs on September 30 on CBS. Racers will travel to five continents, nine countries, 13 cities and more than 25,000 miles according to CBS.
While Krieger ended her 15-year career by winning the 2023 NWSL Championship with NJ/NY Gotham, she has been busy as an ESPN analyst, Gotham ambassador and general icon.
