Mel B Confirms She Hooked Up With Spice Girls Bandmate Geri Halliwell

Mel B apparently said that it only happened once and was “just a fun thing.”

It’s not the ’90s anymore, but, boy, do we have some ’90s news of the Spice Girl Variety. The Spice Girls are set for a reunion tour in the UK this year, and, in advance of the tour, some members have been making the media rounds. Now Mel B — better known as Scary Spice — allegedly told radio host Piers Morgan that she and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) slept together during the group’s heyday.

Mail on Sunday reported this weekend that, during a yet-unaired Life Stories interview with Morgan, Mel B implicated that she and Halliwell had a sexual encounter. Mail on Sunday reported that Morgan asked Mel B if she had slept with Halliwell “like that,” and Mel B allegedly replied: “She’s [Halliwell] going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.”

Mel B apparently also said that it only happened once and was “just a fun thing,” rather than a relationship or anything serious. Mel B is the only openly queer member of the group, and she has been vocal about dating both men and women in the past.

Although the revelation has allegedly caused some interpersonal drama within the group, the reunion tour remains on schedule, with plans for the Spice Girls to reunite (sans Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, sadly) and perform throughout the UK. Most of the reunion shows are already sold out, and this new drama is no doubt going to make the tour even more popular with Spice Girls stans who are looking to see some queer drama play out on stage. Hopefully, in the meantime, someone will tell Ginger Spice that everyone is a little bit queer and that there’s nothing wrong with some girl-on-girl action.
