Rosie O’Donnell Might Have A “Gen Q” Sex Scene & We Are Here For It

O'Donnell on "Howard Stern"

“I told them when I took the job I am not doing a sex scene,” O’Donnell recalled. “But the women who work there are so smart, and they’re young, they’re in their 30s and 40s and they’re writing unbelievably great stuff.”

We’ll be seeing a lot more of Rosie O’Donnell on the upcoming season of “The L Word: Generation Q.”

The actress, comedian, and all-around icon spilled the tea about what we can expect for her character, Carrie, while speaking to Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show. For starters, she has been upgraded from recurring guest star to a season regular.

She also not-so-subtly hinted at some other big news for Carrie: she might “possibly” have “a sex scene.”

When Stern asked if she would be comfortable appearing nude on the show, O’Donnell promptly said “No” before the host had a chance to finish his sentence.

“I told them when I took the job I am not doing a sex scene,” O’Donnell recalled. “But the women who work there are so smart, and they’re young, they’re in their 30s and 40s and they’re writing unbelievably great stuff.”

She also said that the scene appears in an episode directed by series regular Katherine Moenning.

Prior to shooting the scene, O’Donnell said that she and Moennig “had a couple talks and I was like ‘listen -,’ and she’s like, ‘Don’t worry, they’ll be an intimacy coordinator.’”

Despite Moennig’s reassurances, however, O’Donnell admitted that she was “totally panicked about,” the scene, which they’ll be filming in the upcoming weeks. “It’s three weeks away and I’m already sweaty,” she admitted.

Season 3 of “The L Word: Generation Q” premiers November 18 on Showtime. In addition to O’Donnell’s upgrade to season regular, we’ll be seeing a few other casting developments as well. Margaret Cho (one of GO’s Women We Love Class of 2022), Joanna Cassidy, Joey Lauren Adams, and pop star Kehlani will all appear in the upcoming season.
