Demi Burnett And Kristian Haggerty Of ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Just Announced Their Break-Up

Unfortunately, their love story has now come to an end.

There’s trouble in paradise. The first queer female couple on the Bachelor franchise has officially broken up after leaving the show.

Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty got engaged on season six of Bachelor in Paradise. Their love story was the first LGBTQ plotline in the show’s 17 years of history, and it was wildly romantic.

Unfortunately, their love story has now come to an end. After weeks of rumors that the two had split shortly after the show, Burnett and Haggerty released a joint statement announcing their separation.

“What has always been at the forefront of our relationship is love and care for one another,” the statement read. “Our priority is doing what is best for us. With a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship. We ultimately want what is best for us in the long run and for us right now, that means being apart and growing individually.”

The statement went on to thank the many supporters who’ve been following their journey as a couple.

“We will forever be proud of the impact our love story has made and we hope it has helped others feel more accepted and confident within themselves,” they wrote. “We hope it reminded others they aren’t alone and don’t need to be ashamed of who they are. And we hope it shows that two people can love one another in different ways and for us right now that is apart.”
