Zendaya has once again upped the press tour game for her new movie The Drama. Sticking to the full wedding theme, Zendaya, and her style sidekick Law Roach, surprised a queer fan by funding the wedding dress of her dreams.
A lucky couple, Alex Warren and KB White, answered what they thought was a casual casting call tied to A24’s upcoming film The Drama, a “twisty dramedy” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson about a couple unraveling some very inconvenient truths right before their wedding, that’ll apparently have everyone on the edge of their seats.
The plan was to try on dresses, maybe get a feel for the aisle. Like when you’re at IKEA playing house. Very much normal, wholesome, Pinterest-adjacent behavior.
“We thought it would be a fun, low-key chance for Alex to start exploring dresses for our wedding,” White told Them. “We had no idea what we were walking into. Law arrived first to help style Alex, and then Zendaya came to celebrate us and pay for the dress!”
And just like that, the entire experience flipped.
Sharing photos from the moment on instagram, Warren wrote, “Sparkliest week of my life! KB and I exchanged rings (!) and then Zendaya bought my wedding dress (????) (!!) I am so lucky to have had an experience like this … out of this world.”
“It felt completely surreal,” Warren told Them. “I’ve always loved fashion and gowns, and to have a dress not only approved by a stylist I’ve admired forever, but then paid for by an artist I love—as a queer woman, shopping for a wedding gown with my fiancée by my side—I cannot overstate how meaningful that was.”
Because really, how do you even process that? One minute you’re casually trying on dresses, the next you’re in a real-life rom-com funded by Zendaya, fully affirmed and adored.
And yes, the dress itself? Obsessed. “I want to wear it every single day!” she added, which honestly…same.
Law Roach—image architect, fashion oracle, and Zendaya’s longtime partner-in-style-crime, helped curate this moment. The iconic duo styled, celebrated, and then casually said, “yeah, we’ll take that,” like fairy godmothers with a production budget.
And if you’ve been paying attention, this tracks. Zendaya and Law Roach are currently in their full storytelling era, redefining what a press tour even is. For The Drama, they’ve been leaning into a “something old, something new, something borrowed” fashion narrative—cycling through archival pieces, custom couture, and high-fashion callbacks that feel less like outfits and more like chapters.
So honestly, buying a lesbian bride her wedding dress? That’s not random. That’s just on theme.
The Drama hits theaters April 3. Tune in, GO staff definitely will.
