Weekly Horoscopes For Queer Women: What To Do About Conflict

August 28, 2017

This lunar cycle is all about who we serve and how we do it.

Weekly Horoscopes For Queer Women | Monday, August 28

The First Quarter Moon this week happens with the Sun in Virgo and the Moon right on the beginning of Sagittarius. This is a mutable quarter Moon that will take what we have learned about ourselves from the past week and make us begin to to consider the wider impact. The clash happens between deconstruction (Virgo) and ideology (Sagittarius). This lunar cycle is all about who we serve and how we do it—this week the need to serve conflicts with and feeds into our world views.

Retrograding Mercury will also go back into Leo this week. Because the Solar Eclipse last week happened right on the cusp of Leo and Virgo, be prepared to re-explore some of what the eclipse brought up for you through conversation and inward thinking. Mercury Retrograde happens when we need to look backward, historically, to justify our present condition. What does history tell us about who we are and the position we occupy today? This is stolen land with an economic system built by slavery. How does this history position your personal life, dreams, and ambitions today? Honor Mercury Retrograde by realizing that we would not be here today, if not for the past, and that all the things we inherit (genetics, memories, money) are not truly ours.

(These horoscopes are more accurate if you look at your rising sign, sun sign, and moon sign! If you don’t know your time of birth, sun and moon signs are fine.)

♈️ Aries ♈️

Who do you want to serve and who do you care about? Rather, who do you have the capacity to serve and why? You do not have the capacity to serve everyone because there simply isn’t a place for you everywhere in all spaces. Keep this in mind as you prioritize what it is you care about and design the work that you are able to do.

♉️ Taurus ♉️

You are not able to love everyone because of specificity of who you are. Forget equally – this is at all. Who do you want and why do you want them? Love is as historical as anything else and can only transcend when you realize its limitations. What is the history of your love affairs and what does this teach you about who you are?

♊️ Gemini ♊️

This month is all about explaining to yourself how your heritage matters in your present reality. Maybe you’ll see family members you haven’t talking to for a long time come back into your life. How connected or disconnected are you to these people? Are they primarily familiar or foreign to you? What parts of yourself are the most familiar or foreign to you?

♋️ Cancer ♋️

Your language is of your concern. What does do you choose to use and why? What do you tell yourself is the story of your life and how does that make you feel on the day to day? The way you talk reveals how it is you see your own position in the world. Do you codeswitch and when? Why? What does this do for yourself and the way you talk to yourself in your own head?

♌️ Leo ♌️

Money and larger purpose come into play this week. What does your money have to do with the larger picture of the world? Whether you have a lot of money or live in poverty, you are in this position because of the history of economics in this country. Take this week to spend money on things that just make you feel good, not things that feed a more fucked up socio-economic system.

♍️ Virgo ♍️

What perspectives of seeing the world do you take with you when viewing the world and what does this have to do with your heritage? If you are white, then how does this influence the way you see everything? If not, then same question? This week, explore all that you have internalized about your own inferiority or superiority.

♎️ Libra ♎️

Your job, Libra, is to look at the bigger picture this week. How has white supremacy influenced your fantasies, whether they are around sex or career? If the ways we define and feel success, power, and liberation are all historical, take note of what your fantasies tell you about yourself. After all, that it their purpose.

♏️ Scorpio ♏️

Critique the people you surround yourself with a little this week. Your job is to make sure that the future we envision together pays homage to all that transpired in the past. Progressivism means nothing but a parody of history if we don’t take time to review violence. Apply this to your future and our future. The future is as historical as anything else.

♐️ Sagittarius ♐️

What does the past have to do with your representation? How do you present the present? This week, focus on just being present in all that challenges and gets in your way in your life. Showing up to anything is 99% of the work. Your job, first and foremost, is the represent yourself and this is no small feat. Being yourself, you carry the weight of all who have come before you.

♑️ Capricorn ♑️

The institution and all its dogmatics come alive for you this week. Because you are Capricorn, institutional debt will be the thorn in your side you prefer to ignore. This week will force you to become more aware of what institutions and ideologies you play a part in and this will not be comfortable because the histories you engage with will not be in your control.

♒️ Aquarius ♒️

Consider sex and its role in defining you. What do you desire and how has this story of your desires been a map of resisting and consuming fetishes available in social imagination? What symbols you function off of is a display of your own powerlessness and your debt to the historical construction of power. Rather than finding ways to reflect it, dive deep in.

♓️ Pisces ♓️

Everyone has an image of society specific to who they are—what is yours? How has history shaped this collection of images you call the Other? If you’re a PoC, redefine whiteness this week. If you’re white, redefine what it means to be of color. This requires you to extend yourself beyond your own means and to jump headfirst into a mirror.
