On Nov 3, women from all over the city will flock to Chelsea Piers for the 10th anniversary of The Center’s Women’s Event. This premier women’s gala event, featuring a cocktail reception, dinner, silent auction, and midnight dessert and dancing, honors prominent women in NYC who have devoted themselves to the betterment of women. This year’s event honors out actress Cherry Jones with a special Outspoken Community Leader Award.
The ultimate comedy festival, The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) hits top venues around the city Nov 6–11. This year’s festival roster includes celebrated comics Sarah Silverman, Denis Leary, Bill Maher and more. Rosie O’Donnell will perform on opening night to benefit her organization Rosie’s Broadway Kids, dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts.
Empire State Pride Agenda holds its Fall Dinner Oct 11 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. During this exciting evening, over 1,000 friends and allies of the LGBT community come together to celebrate the victories we have achieved and demonstrate our strength and commitment to achieving equality for all LGBT New Yorkers. The 2007 event boasts keynote speaker David Mixner, emcee Caroline Rhea, and special guests Alan Cumming, Mary Louise Parker and Christopher Meloni.
