Jan 6, The L Word is back in full swing, so usher in the fifth season at the HRC’s GO Magazine-sponsored The L Word Premiere Party at Pacha. The event features DJ Susan Levine and DJ Stacy, and is expected to sell out, so RSVP early!

Dec 17–18 at the New Amsterdam Theater, Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS’ Gypsy of the Year Competition features New York’s most talented “gypsies” (chorus members from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows) in a competitive variety show. The event is the culmination of six weeks of fund-raising when shows on and Off-Broadway engage in a friendly competition to see which show can raise the most money for BC/EFA. Awards are presented to the shows raising the most money and to the winning presentation.

Dec 22 at the LGBT Center, Las Buenas Amigas and Mateando celebrate the holidays Latin style with the 2007 Latin Holiday Party. Dance salsa and eat home- cooked food with beautiful Latinas and Latinos from your community. NYC Council Woman Rosie Mendez from District 2 is the keynote speaker, and in honor of their 21st anniversary, Las Buenas Amigas will honor Andres Duque from LCOA and Maria La Che Berrio from Mateando for their endless years of supporting and empowering the Latina/o LGBT community.

The Cycle World International Motorcycle Show cruises into the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Dec 28–30. This show offers attendees an up-close look at hundreds of 2008-model street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, ATVs, concept bikes, customs, vintage bikes and more. New on display this year will be a collection of historical record-setting bikes, including the world’s fastest motorcycle. Additionally, enthusiasts of all ages will have the opportunity to try out the latest gear and aftermarket accessories, as well as experience action-packed entertainment.

The New York Times’ signature event, Arts & Leisure Week, rolls around again Jan 7–13 at a spectacular new venue (the TimesCenter in the New York Times Building), now for a full seven days of interviews and discussions. Join New York Times journalists and some of today’s most celebrated talent and thinkers from the worlds of art, film, theater, music, television, literature, media and politics—from Wynton Marsalis to Martha Stewart, Julian Schnabel to Susan Stroman, Mark Morris to Naked Brothers Band and much more.
