The Very Best of NYC Art

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, B-Horror

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, on view at the Met through July 31 and organized by its  Costume Institute, celebrates the late designer’s extraordinary contributions to fashion. From his postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation which took place after his tragic death by suicide in February 2010, McQueen continually challenged and expanded the understanding of fashion beyond utility to include a conceptual expression of culture, politics, and identity.

Join MF Gallery and a slew of horror enthusiasts as they pay tribute to their favorite horror movies through drawings, paintings, sculptures, and other works of art in the unique B-HORROR exhibit (by appointment only!). The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Demons, Evil Dead, Frankenhooker and Street Trash are some of the B-movies that inspired the artists represented here to create their most horrific artworks. E-mail info@MFgallery.net to set up a viewing…if you dare.
