Ruby Rose Is Accusing Katy Perry Of Sexually Assaulting Her Nearly 20 Years Ago
On Sunday, actress Ruby Rose claimed via Threads that the pop star sexually assaulted her in a Melbourne nightclub nearly two decades ago.

Actress Ruby Rose took to Threads on Sunday to accuse pop star Katy Perry of assaulting her at an Australian nightclub when she was in her twenties.
In the comment section of a post about Katy Perry attending Justin Bieber’s Coachella set, Rose wrote, “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks.”
A fan commented back, “She kissed a girl and you didn’t like it?” to which Rose responded, “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomitted on her.”
Rose went on to share that she told the story publicly but changed it to be a “funny little drunk story” and said that when Perry later agreed to help her get her US visa, she kept it a secret. “I was only in my early 29s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” Rose continued. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”
Later Sunday night, Rose wrote, “Yeah, not interested in filing a report over this…But she is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people). Plus there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one.”
A representative for Perry reacted to the claims in a statement to Variety that read, “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Social media has obviously weighed in on the serious allegations. Commenters under Rose’s posts are broadly supportive, applauding her for speaking up and even sharing that Perry’s alleged actions don’t surprise them citing a history of questionable behavior—working with Dr. Luke, Kesha’s alleged abuser, on her song ‘Woman’s World’ (ironic), a nonconsensual kiss given to a teen American Idol contestant, the alleged assault on model Josh Kloss while filming the “Teenage Dream’:music video, and other uncomfortable situations with a teen Justin Bieber, and TV host Tina Kandelaki.
However, many social media users have claimed that Rose has notoriously made claims that have been disputed, some calling out her own past alleged harassment.
Rose has yet to comment on the Perry’s denial of the allegations.
