RHONY’s Newest Housewife Reveals a Sapphic Love Life and Lavender Marriage in Season 16 Trailer
Hailey Glassman’s queer confession steals Bravo’s first look at the new season, which is packed with fights, feuds, and fabulous mayhem.
If you thought The Real Housewives of New York City had already reached its drama quota, think again. Bravo just dropped the first trailer for Season 16, and between screaming matches, a suspicious brown stain, accusations involving Jeffrey Epstein, and one very expensive flood, one moment had us rewinding: newcomer Hailey Glassman casually revealing she’s in a lavender marriage.
During the trailer, Glassman explains, “I’m in a lavender marriage.” When another Housewife asks what that means, she replies, “I sleep with women intimately as well.” She then confirms that her husband knows, joking, “When we get into fights, he goes on Craigslist to look for an apartment, and I go on Raya (exclusive, members-only community and dating app).” That’s surely one way to explain an open marriage.
Glassman is a publicist who first entered the spotlight in the late 2000s during her highly publicized relationship with Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin. Rumors that she’d be joining RHONY had been swirling for months after she was spotted outside Bravo’s New York headquarters, and now she’s officially holding an apple for Season 16.
The reveal also marks another queer chapter for the franchise. Former creative director Jenna Lyons made history as RHONY‘s first openly queer Housewife when she joined the reboot in Season 14, followed by art curator and model Racquel Chevremont, who became the show’s second openly queer Housewife and first queer woman of color in Season 15. While neither returns for Season 16, Glassman’s comments suggest queer storylines aren’t going anywhere.

Of course, that’s only one slice of the chaos. The trailer also teases the return of Carole Radziwill, explosive feuds between newcomers Daisy Toye and Glassman, luxury vacations that quickly go off the rails, and ruthless insults. Shakespeare, this is not—but Bravo? Absolutely.
