New Documentary Highlights Fearless Trans Activist and Model, Munroe Bergdorf

‘Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf’ is available for digital rental and purchase on July 15.

Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf, directed by Olivia Cappuccini, tells the intimate and fearless story of Munroe Bergdorf—author, model, leading trans activist, global pioneer of LGBTQ+ equity, and creative force. The powerful documentary shares Munroe’s experience of intense discrimination while courageously living her truth, serving as a call to action and igniting global dialogue rooted in hope and inspiration.

The film, produced by Andee Ryder and Sofia Ismail Martin, explores themes of queerness through the compelling story of international trailblazer Munroe Bergdorf. Chosen family, dysphoria, and loneliness are woven into the picture alongside the fabrics of relief and unconditional love she feels in the trans community in London. After her quick rise to fame and landing a partnership with the biggest beauty company in the world, she shares a vulnerable story of living in the villainizing eyes of the media and learning to fight for herself like she’s never fought before.

Munroe’s story has her audience bear witness to the crossroads she stands in front of—balancing her needs and desires with a deep sense of responsibility to speak out on issues of identity, feminism, race, and gender.

Munroe is nothing short of accomplished and impressive, having covered a range of media titles and making history by appearing as the first trans cover-star of Cosmopolitan magazine to celebrate its 50th anniversary. She’s received numerous awards and accolades, including Glamour Beauty Gamechanger 2022, TIME Magazine Next Generation Leaders2020, Gay Times Honours 2021, Honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Brighton, and many more.

Love & Rage is more than a portrait of a singular story—it’s a rally cry for trans and queer visibility, and collective liberation. Through the film’s candid storytelling and unwavering activism, the picture offers a deeply human look into what it means to live authentically.
