Lady Gaga Donates Proceeds From Remix to GLSEN

The pop superstar will donate some of the proceeds from the country remix of her single Born This Way to LGBT group GLSEN

Pop powerhouse Lady Gaga will donate proceeds from the country remix of her latest single, Born This Way, to LGBT group GLSEN, MTV News reported.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) works to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. Its latest efforts heavily focus on combating anti-gay bullying in schools.

Lady Gaga recently announced via Twitter the “Country Road Remix” of her hit single, which has been hailed as a new gay anthem because of its inclusive lyrics and message, and the song was available for purchase on iTunes as of Tuesday.

Lady Gaga has remained an outspoken advocate for LGBT equality since her emergence as a dominating force in international pop culture. She has used her influence to lobby for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and recently quashed an exclusive deal with Target over the mega-retailer’s poor track record on LGBT issues.
