GO Magazine‘s beloved Promotions Manager, DaShawn Wilson, recently received devastating news. She was diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer. A mass in her throat tripled in size, and she was forced to undergo emergency surgery.
DaShawn has long been a revered hero to this staff and to countless members of so many communities. She has supported her friends and family for many years, while asking for nothing in return. Now, we want to do everything we can to support this incredible woman.
More than $5,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe set up in DaShawn’s name by her longtime friend Anita Hernandez. DaShawn has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends and family. It is truly heartwarming to see how many people have supported this fundraiser, which is nearing its goal of $8,000.
The money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to DaShawn’s living expenses and help cover her medical bills. While she focuses on her recovery, we ask our community to support her. We hope this modest $8,000 goal will be exceeded by donations from the wonderful communities DaShawn has served.
