Weekly Horoscopes For Queer Women: How To Face Your Own Imbalances

This week is confusing. And that’s okay. As an English teacher once told me, “You know when you’re learning because you will feel confused.” We might not know what the hell is going on this week and we might have trouble putting things into words. Things will not make sense because Neptune is touching both Mercury and Venus, making our minds and hearts full of fragments, disillusions, and too many contradicting stories.

Whatever story is it you’re telling yourself, it is just one of many and you can switch gears and tell another one the next day. Focus on the elusively of the grand narrative.

We’re prepping for the New Moon in Scorpio all week. During the last full moon, the #metoo hashtag went viral and this Scorpio season has been the proliferation of all that repressed violence exploding. This made the imbalance of power in our outer world reveal itself. During the New Moon, we’ll come face to face with our own imbalances of power. We’ll have to take a look at what we’ve internalized from our experiences and act out to others. Remember that abuse is a learned behavior and that both abusers and the abused will mimic these behaviors. We’ll have to fess up to the ways we are implicated in the continuing history of abuse that define our lives.

(These horoscopes are more accurate if you look at your rising sign, sun sign, and moon sign! If you don’t know your time of birth, sun and moon signs are fine.)

♈️  Aries  ♈️

How has abuse influenced your kinks, your desires, and what you call taboo? Describe what it is you fetishize – maybe it is money, maybe it’s influence, or maybe it’s the exotic. Look at what makes you feel deeply ashamed right in the face and see what it is made of exactly. The thing is, you’re not the only one. All these hidden things speak to what binds us apart and together.

♉️  Taurus ♉️

How do you function specifically in your relationships with the power dynamics which are present? What games do you play with text messages conversations and emotions? In what ways has the inability to admit to needing power affected your need to be valued in the relationship? Use this New Moon to acknowledge the ways you wield power without punishing yourself about it.

♊️  Gemini ♊️

Your labor and power define work and body to you. This is an excellent chance to acknowledge the ways that abuse has affected your body image and the ways that you use your body. This is also a chance to see how this affects the ways you explain efficiency and what it means to be used/ful. Try to see if you punish yourself in any way, even if it’s hard to admit to it.

♋️  Cancer ♋️

Power equals attention for you, dear Cancer. In what ways have you been abused when you asked for attention or had your need for attention used against you? If you still carry this with you, it will cause you to both invalidate your need for attention (which everyone needs) and manipulate it out of people instead of respecting yourself by demanding it.

♌️  Leo ♌️

This is an important period for you, since the New Moon is at odds with who you are. Take a look at the power dynamics of your childhood and what that did to you in your formative years. Look at how these conceptions of power come directly from your racial background, how power was taken, held, and hoarded. Then, slowly start to see how this formed you as a person today.

♍️  Virgo ♍️

The language that you choose to use was created collectively before your time and given to you. This means that it is an historical artifact that forms your mind. Think about your experiences in early education and how that defined power for you. What were you called, by whom, and did you believe it? Do you still believe it to this day?

♎️  Libra ♎️

This season was all about money and what you can use. How has your relationship with money been defined by abuses of power in your lifetime? This affects how much you believe you are worth and whether you’re willing to validate yourself. If you avoid thinking about money, you are avoiding the need to deal with power. Confront it and deal with it.

♏️  Scorpio ♏️

Who are you? How do you define yourself? As a geek or creative or maybe as worker? It’s time to go into yourself and see how situations with power have defined your identity, beginning with what you associate with your name. Does your identity and the independence it creates liberate you from past abuses or does it continue them? Look yourself in the eye this week.

♐️  Sagittarius ♐️

Power is not something you will admit to having and it will never be easy for you to you fess up to your need for control. This is the one week of the entire year that you have to do some admitting to yourself. Sleep a lot this week because the scenarios in which you have learned abuse will come out in them. Seek to describe them in your own words.

♑️  Capricorn ♑️

This is the week that you think about the purpose of your life. How have your faraway ambitions and dreams about what you can be been influenced by how you define power? Try to see if you are continuing abuse in what it is your dream about and whether ambition is actually the splintering of the self. Make ambition something that nurtures you.

♒️  Aquarius ♒️

How do people know you? What are you influential about in your group of friends, your coworkers, and even your family? The ways that you think about your reputation have everything to do with your own power. Think about yourself as a living symbol and about all the ways that you still serve the logic of abuse. This is a hard week but necessary one.

♓️  Pisces ♓️

Your relationship to your location in space is an object of contemplation this week. This is because your location shapes your perspective and, in doing so, your ideologies and political orientation. Consider what power has to do with where it is you place yourself on the map and the places that you have been placed. Wandering, movement, and power come together.
