Hockey Rivals Emily Clark And Jaime Bourbonnais Are Engaged
The two hard launched their relationship in 2025 after several years of dating.
Canadian hockey stars Emily Clark and Jaime Bourbonnais have a new reason to celebrate off the rink—they’re engaged!
The couple announced the exciting news via Instagram this week, with Bourbonnais writing, “Forever and ever and ever!!!” alongside a series of photos showing off the proposal and the ring.
Clark, who appears to have done the proposing, shared some additional pictures from the special day. “The joy of my life,” she wrote.
The two met while playing together on the Canadian national team, hard launching their relationship in 2025 after having been together for several years.
“We didn’t want to be a distraction or be drama on the team,” Clark recalled during an interview on No Straight Answers with Zoe Boyd. “Dating a teammate, you want to handle it properly and be professional and keep those two things separate.”
Outside of the national team, they do have a bit of a Heated Rivalry situation going on; in the Professional Women’s Hockey League, Bourbonnais plays for the New York Sirens, while Clark recently moved from the Ottawa Charge to the newly formed PWHL Hamilton.
Fans and friends alike were thrilled for the happy couple after their online announcement, flooding both Instagram posts with congratulations.
“Literal icons I’m obsessed with you guys,” wrote Charge forward Gabbie Hughes, while Hamilton goaltender Kayle Osborne kept things even more simple: “SCREAMING CRYING YAYYYY.”
“Can finally stop asking @jaimebourb when the ring is comin,” Mellissa Channell-Watkins joked.

Two talented hockey players, PWHL stars, and a couple of the nicest people out there.
The news comes on the heels of another PWHL couple, Kali Flanagan and Allie Munroe of the Toronto Sceptres, announcing their engagement earlier this month. With all these real life sapphic hockey romances, when are we getting that series, HBO? We’ll wait!
