Fox News Tried To Go After Natasha Cloud. The WNBA Champ Delivered A Medal-Worthy Clap Back

Cloud is speaking out against Donald Trump and doesn’t care what Fox News has to say.
Natasha Cloud has never shied away from using her platform. The 33-year-old former Phoenix Mercury guard, now traded to the Connecticut Sun, recently spoke out against Donald Trump’s decision to eliminate DEI programs. And Trump’s beloved Fox News had quite the response to this athlete expressing her opinion.
In an article from the Associate Press titled “Long champions of social justice, Black athletes say their voices are needed now more than ever,” Cloud opened up about the need for athletes across American professional sports to speak out against racial discrimination in the aftermath of Trump’s orders to end diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. Programs designed to help LGBTQ+ people, people of color, women, and other marginalized groups could face discrimination when it comes to fair treatment, pay equity, and advancement opportunities.
“The systems of power are working as they always were intended to work,” Cloud told AP. “And it’s time to break down a system that has only been about white men.”

Fox News posted an article about her statement, sharing it to X with the headline “TAKING SHOTS: WNBA champion Natasha Cloud is still on her social justice soapbox as she calls out President Trump for eliminating several DEI programs, claiming the country is prioritizing ‘money over people.’”

The unapologetic nine-year WNBA veteran didn’t hold back, responding “It is. Next time @ me with yall scary asses and fixed political narrative. PEOPLE OVER PROFIT.” She didn’t stop there, adding, “Let’s just get this out the way too. Racist [T]witter fingers don’t hurt my feelings🤣🤷🏽♀️ these policies coming for yalls homes just as much as mine. Just wait….”

Fans flooded the comment section of the posts in support of Cloud.
One fan commented, “Where’s the lie!?”
Another added, “Never stop advocating & using your platform for good! You’re a real one Tash!” We agree.
Cloud has always been front and center of the WNBA’s social activism. In 2020, she sat out the WNBA season to work on social justice issues after the murder of George Floyd. Since then, she’s partnered with Working Families Party to encourage people to vote in the 2024 presidential election. She has also been a mentor for VOICEINSPORT, a platform that connects young female athletes with nutritionists, sports psychologists, or professional athletes. Besides this post, she’s constantly used her social media platforms to bring awareness to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, gun violence, and other world events.
