Foreman to Leave The Task Force

Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force since 2003, will step down in April.

Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force since 2003, will step down in April, having cemented his reputation as an astute political tactician and unwavering transgender rights advocate.

Foreman will head the Gay and Lesbian Program at the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund in San Francisco. The fund provides more grant support to LGBT organizations than any non-gay-identified foundation in the country.

“This kind of opportunity does not come along very often,” Foreman told GO on Jan 26 at the Winter Pride celebration in Queens, New York, where he was honored for his commitment to transgender inclusion in the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act. “I feel that I can do a lot for the movement and the world,” he said about his future.
