The Very Best of NYC Dance

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

New York City Center’s principal dance company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, returns Nov 28-Dec 30 with audience favorites and new productions. On the schedule are Garth Fagan’s African- and Caribbean-influenced From Before, Jiri Kylian’s breathtaking Petite Mort, and Artistic Director Robert Battle’s propulsive Strange Humors. Kyle Abraham’s Another Night, a world premiere supported by funds from City Center, is a richly inventive contemporary jazz piece. Ronald K. Brown’s rapturous Grace also returns, and on select nights, the beloved Revelations will be performed with live music and an expanded cast of 50 dancers.
