The Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend is only one week away—a single week!–and we’re so looking forward to what is now the world's most celebrated lesbian event and music festival: a place for girl-lovin’ girls to cut loose, party, socialize, be out and proud, enjoy world-class entertainment, soak up some sun and possibly even meet The One.
Every year, the Dinah delivers a spectacular, mind-blowing experience. But this year will be even better! The Dinah is having a big milestone birthday, and the heights of celebration will be unprecedented.
So what can Dinah-goers look forward to this year?
“First of all we’re turning 25, so attendees can expect a HUGE celebration. We’re taking the event to a new zenith!” says Mariah Hanson, the legendary event’s creator and producer. “This is the ultimate must-see, must-experience Dinah ever! The non-stop action, the house-packed crazy and wild pool parties, the sexiest go-go dancers, the best DJs, the spectacular entertainment, the celebrities, plus the hottest girls in the world…we got it all!”
What will be new or special? (What won’t be!)
“We’ve spent 25 years showcasing some of music’s hottest female talents, as well as featuring music’s next big things, and this year will be no exception,” Hanson continues. “To celebrate the 25th anniversary we pulled out all the stops, and we’re proud to present headliners Meghan Trainor and Christina Perri, [along with] music’s ‘it’ girls Bebe Rexha and Ivy Levan, among others on the Dinah stage this year. To really encompass how Dinah brings women together from all places, new this year we focused on bringing in DJs from across the country to make sure everyone gets a little bit of something. You can expect to hear music from DJs coming from LA, New York, and Miami who take their beats all over the world.”
And she’s not kidding about the DJs, all of whom pour their hearts and souls into making those Dinah parties rock. This year, you’ll be entertained practically nonstop by world-renowned DJs such as Whitney Day, a “classically trained musician-tumed party rocker” who launched her career in the NYC club scene and has made a name for herself with her instinctive, ingenious and infectious mixing talents; also from Gotham, DJ Mary Mac, who brings her extraordinary combo of natural talent, passion and musical inspiration from her Haitian background, having spun with the most prominent and influential DJs in the industry; LA’s soulful and vibrant DJ AMARA, who mixes a variety of genres and gives listeners a matchless, one-of-a-kind experience of hybrid beats and rhythms; also from the City of Angels (by way of London!), DJ Asha, who is one the most multitalented DJs on the club scene, known for spinning a stunning selection of party anthems, EDM, hip hop, old school, reggae, R&B and Top 40; Miami-based DJ Citizen Jane, whose immeasurable style of music knows no boundaries and will be playing dance, Top 40, retro, rock, Latin rock and indie with nuances edging into house, hip hop, salsa, merengue and reggaeton; another LA fave, GoodBoy (aka Morgan Hildebrand), who will bring her authentic SoCal vibe to The Dinah—along with her passion for deep house and electronic funk beats; and from Vegas (of Shedonism fame), DJ Lisa Pittman, who will devote her vinyl, turntable and on-air mixing skillz to The Dinah while demonstrating her musicianship with live drumming.
Incredible music is undeniably The Dinah‘s trademark. As we’ve said before—and we’ll say it again!—Hanson’s amazing formula for finding the world’s most artistic DJs and gifted performers on the cusp of fame is a unique combination of instinct, research and steadfast pursuit of the best talent for her audience. It’s something we like to call “The Dinah Secret Sauce”. It’s extraordinary!
