Chappell Roan Has A Girlfriend And “It’s Serious”

Chappell Roan

Roan says she’s still “pro-single,” but she’s off the market for now.

Chappell Roan is officially in her in-love-and-thriving era.

On the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, the pop sensation behind The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess confirmed what sapphics everywhere have been speculating—she’s off the market. And not just casually dating. It’s serious.

During the episode, host Alex Cooper asked Roan if she was currently single, to which the singer replied with a resounding: “No.”

She then revealed that she’s been in a relationship for six months, and when Cooper pried further about whether it was casual, Roan doubled down: “No, it’s serious. I’m very in love.”

But even while basking in the glow of new love, Roan made sure to emphasize her stance on the single life.

“I am pro-single,” she stated, urging people to embrace being alone before jumping into relationships. “I had a great time when I was single, and I know that I’ll be okay, and now I have an awesome time that I’m with someone.”

It’s giving secure attachment; it’s giving emotional growth.

Roan kept most details about her partner under wraps but did share that they met through a mutual friend—though not as a setup. And while Roan has never been shy about being the one to make the first move, she admitted that dating now would be “a nightmare” if she were trying to meet someone new.

“I’m terrified of people’s intentions. I don’t trust anyone. Any new person I text, I’m assuming they’ll screenshot it and send it to someone else.”

The news of Roan’s serious relationship is a shift from where she was just last year. In her September 2024 Rolling Stone cover story, she confessed that she had met someone she really liked but couldn’t commit.

“I don’t want to date another artist because they’re f*cking nuts,” she joked at the time.

That “someone” was completely outside the music industry, and Roan seemed to be grappling with the idea of letting herself really fall.

But the heart wants what the heart wants, and we wish this happy couple nothing but queer joy.
