Ariana Grande certainly doesn’t need to prove her LGBTQ+ allyship to anyone at this point, but she’s going the extra mile all the same with the launch of a new foundation.

On Friday, the Wicked star announced the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, dedicated to uplifting and funding small organizations that are already doing the work related to LGBTQ+ rights and mental health.

“It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years, and I’m grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation,” Grande wrote on Instagram.

The foundation will have four specific funds. The first is the Protect & Defend Fund for groups that “advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice, helping to create communities where people feel safe, supported, and have care and resources to turn to,” including Lambda Legal, The Trans Youth Emergency Project, Defending Our Neighbors Fund, Elevated Access, G.L.I.T.S., and Transgender Law Center.

Next is the Heal & Dream Fund, aimed at expanding access to mental health care and supporting Backline, Jack.org, National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network, and Trans Lifeline. The third is the Seen & Celebrated Fund to uplift LGBTQ+ voices in conjunction with Gender Liberation Movement, Glisten Rainbow Library, SAGE, TransLash Media, and Transanta. And the final fund is the Emergency Support Fund, which will step in when communities have an urgent collective need for aid.

The announcement came just days after Grande publicly shut down the White House for using one of her songs, “bye,” in a TikTok celebrating ICE agents arresting people. “please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” she commented on the video. “fck ice.”

The song is part of Grande’s 2024 album, Eternal Sunshine. Meanwhile, her new foundation gets its name from the 2025 expanded edition of that same album, Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead.
