Apple’s New iOS Accidentally Includes A Very Handy Lesbian Sex Emoji

This emoji will take lesbian sexting to a whole new level.

Apple’s new iOS update is on the way, and it comes with 117 brand new emojis — including one that looks very much like a symbol for fisting, according to every lesbian on the internet.

The Unicode Consortium announced the new group of emojis on Wednesday. The set is officially known as Emoji 13.0. There are several emojis that the LGBTQ community has been requesting for years, including the trans flag (finally!) and the transgender symbol. Plus, more gender-inclusive options, such as both men and women bottle-feeding a baby, wearing tuxes, and wearing wedding dresses. There’s even a gender-neutral Santa (Mx. Santa)!

Then there’s one emoji that the LGBTQ community definitely didn’t ask for, but will probably be using a lot. It’s called, um, “Pinched Fingers.”

But queer people on Twitter can’t help but point out that, hi, it looks like a fisting emoji.

“Who wants to tell them,” brand strategy consultant Nicolette Mason wrote on Twitter.

“REPRESENTATION!!!” lesbian columnist Jeanna Kadlec replied.

“At last, OUR eggplant emoji has arrived,” author Kate Gorton agreed.

Perhaps some LGBTQ people have been requesting a fisting emoji, judging by the number of “thank god FINALLY” reactions on social media. Many people pointed out that the emoji also looks like the symbol for a common Italian hand gesture, which is, indeed, the Emojipedia’s official nickname for it.

“My fellow fisters and I stand in solidarity with the Italian people today,” trans writer Stephen Ira wrote.

The new emojis will begin showing up on iOS, Android, and Twitter sometime in the summer or early fall, according to Fast Company.

In addition to the new addition to lesbian sexting vocabulary, the latest emojis include a bunch of other fun objects and animals. There’s a black cat, a houseplant, a chipmunk, a dodo, an olive, a tamale, bubble tea, a roller skate, a plunger, a polar bear, a fly, a green pepper, and more.
