6 Things To Do In Queer-antine This Weekend

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, GO Mag will be gathering the best lesbian and queer virtual events on the weekends in lieu of our regular weekend event round-ups.

Though select regions of the U.S. are lifting lockdown restrictions this weekend, life still isn’t going back to “normal” quite yet. Many of us will still be indoors all weekend, whether by choice or not, so the virtual queer calendar rages on. Here are this weekend’s happenings.

Music Together Cultural Workshops

DJ Bambii, Queer Songbook Orchestra, and a bunch of other artists will be sharing performances and workshops during this day-long event on Friday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST. If you want to enjoy some music and art while also learning a little something about the craft, this is the event for you. This event is being hosted by Music Together, a relief fund for Ontario artists, and the creative network Dark Spark.

Virtual Cubbyhole Happy Hour

Beloved NYC lesbian bar Cubbyhole is hosting a virtual happy hour on GO Mag’s Instagram Live. You deserve a drink, so tune in on Friday at 5 p.m. EST with your cocktail/shot glass/beer/wine glass ready.

Henrietta Hudson Queerantined ft. DJ Christie

Another beloved NYC lesbian bar, Henrietta Hudson, is hosting a live Zoom party on Friday at 9 p.m. EST, hosted by guest DJ Christie. Put some music on and don’t forget to tip to help the bar survive this ordeal!

Queer Virtual Forest Therapy

On Saturday at 10 a.m. EST, embark on a free virtual forest therapy experience with host Tam, a certified forest bathing guide. The event will take place over Zoom, and you can join in from any nearby natural area, including your home, backyard, or even a balcony. Getting centered in nature is one of the best ways to combat queer-antine blues.

Channel Papi

Brooklyn queer party Papi Juice is hosting its second digital edition of the event, lovingly coined Channel Papi, on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST. Featuring a full line-up of artists, including Le1f, Raveena, and Kaili Loka, all coming to a Zoom near you.

Queer-antine LGBTQIA Music Video Showcase

This weekly LGBTQIA music video showcase hosted by Kisos is the perfect opportunity to discover some new queer musicians. This week is being co-hosted by Foxgluvv, a self-proclaimed “dyke pop princess.” There’s a full line-up of 10 other musicians on the roster, too. It all starts on Sunday at 3 p.m EST.
