Queer representation in film and TV hasn’t been all that great in recent years. Fortunately, there have still been some quality shows with sapphic storylines for us to swoon over—and some of them are even lasting longer than a single season.
But with the sheer number of shows coming out across network, cable, and streaming, it can be hard to keep tabs on everything. So if you’re looking for something new to add to your roster in between seasons of Pluribus and Harley Quinn, check out these series featuring queer female characters and storylines that you might have missed.
1. From (2022 to present)
This horror series centers around a mysterious town that doesn’t let anyone leave once they enter. While Harold Perrineau is the main protagonist of the show, a queer couple (played by Chloe Van Landschoot and Kaelen Ohm) have also been integral since From began. The series has quietly enjoyed four seasons and critical acclaim since premiering back in 2022 and has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

2. Elle (2026 to present)
The Legally Blonde prequel series may have taken some liberties that don’t go over too well with fans of the iconic movie, but one positive addition has been giving young Elle a lesbian best friend, played by Gabrielle Policano. Production has already wrapped on season two of the show, but there’s still time to catch up before a premiere date is announced!

3. The Testaments (2026 to present)
The Testaments is a spin-off of The Handmaid’s Tale, so if you’re looking for a cute queer romance, you’re not going to find it here. That said, for those who live for sapphic yearning in a dismal world, the first season of this show has you covered.

4. The Five-Star Weekend (2026 to present)
While one may not normally expect queer romance in something so clearly targeted at suburban housewives, The Five-Star Weekend is a refreshing surprise in that area. The show follows Jennifer Garner’s character as she invites four of her friends to join her in recreating a five-star weekend getaway at home. One of these friends, played by D’Arcy Carden, is struggling with her sexuality and even gets a love interest along the way. The series is based on a book, so it’s unclear yet whether it will get a season two.

5. Scarpetta (2026 to present)
Scarpetta, based on the popular crime novels from Patricia Cornwell, stars Nicole Kidman as a forensic pathologist helping solve crimes. Ariana DeBose plays her niece, Lucy, a computer programmer who gets caught up talking to an AI chatbot emulating her dead wife. It’s an unsettling look at the new reality we’re living through in real time, but hopefully Lucy will branch out from the world of AI in season two.

Honorable mention: Furious (2026 to present)
If you’ve got a Killing Eve-shaped hole in your heart, perhaps Furious can step up and fill it. The show stars Emmy Rossum as an FBI agent in pursuit of a female serial killer (Lola Petticrew). Without giving too much away, the show dabbles in queerness at the moment, but right now we’re mostly just running on vibes. And just about any story with a female serial killer automatically has some amount of queer vibes to offer.
