5 Lesbian Things To Do In New Orleans This Weekend

Storytelling, dyke parties, yoga.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day, or don’t, with these five lesbian events in New Orleans.

Friday

Greetings, From Queer Mountain at The Allways Lounge & Cabaret (2240 St. Claude Ave.) at 7:30 p.m. — Greetings, From Queer Mountain is a monthly LGBTQ storytelling showcase, and this month’s show falls on Valentine’s Day. Naturally, the theme is “secret crushes.” Tickets are $5.

Stem Top Presents: Coochie Crumbs at Voodoo Lounge (718 N. Rampart St.) at 10 p.m. — Stem Top is a new event for “dykes and the people who love them.” Specifically, for femmes and stems. The name is a frankly BRILLIANT wordplay based on stem (stud + femme), tops, and Stove Top. Free.

Saturday

TGNC Nerds at the Parades at QiQi (1515 Aline St.) at 5 p.m. — Meet up with fellow trans and gender non-conforming folks at Uptown’s only queer bar to watch the parades! QiQi is one block from the parade route (hint: bathrooms). Get there by 5 to watch Sparta, or get there earlier. Passes are $6.

Roommates: A Tender Party for Dykes and the Queers Who Love Them at 2221 St. Claude Ave. at 7 p.m. — A party for dykes/queers to “make new friends, cruise new dates, plan schemes, or build community” for people who “miss bygone dyke bars” and “identify as tired.” There will be a cool IRL personals ad situation happening too. Come early, leave by midnight. Free.

Sunday

Queer Jai at Swan River Yoga Arabi Community Center (7011 St. Claude Ave. #213) at 1 p.m. — A monthly yoga event for LGBTQIA+ folks. No experience is necessary in this safe, non-judgmental atmosphere — you don’t even need to have your own mat!
