100 Women We Love Class of 2010

As the first decade of the new millennium comes to an end, we take a moment to celebrate 100 out lesbians who have made the past year one of inspiring change and amazing progress.

Suzanne Westenhoefer

Trailblazing comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer has been performing to both straight and LGBT audiences for almost two decades. In 1991, she was the first out lesbian comedian to appear on national TV and in 1994 she became the first out comic to host her own HBO Comedy Special. Westenhoefer has also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and on Bravo and LOGO specials. She recently headlined Sweet’s Caribbean cruise and is one of the stars of the web series We Have to Stop Now. Westenhoefer’s current tour, Totally Inappropriate, is an unscripted show that features new material every night, based on her experiences in each city. Westenhoefer wants us, as a community, to keep laughing. “Regardless of how bad it has been or gets, we homos can laugh it off and keep working. And more sex for the lezzies: I always hope to inspire the gay gals to get it on more.”- CB
