Lesbian uber-icon Ellen DeGeneres won her third consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in June, 2007. The Ellen DeGeneres Show won Best Direction in a Talk Show and Best Art Direction. Surprise: team Ellen was recently nominated for this year’s Emmys, which will be awarded on June 20 in Los Angeles. But that’s not all: DeGeneres and longtime love Portia De Rossi recently announced their plans to marry in the wake of the California Supreme Court’s lifting of the ban on same-sex marriage.
