New Hope Pride Is Almost Here (And It Sounds Amazing)

See you there?

Pride season is ALMOST HERE! New Hope, in Bucks County, traditionally starts things off a little earlier in with one of the first pride celebrations of the season, and this year is no exception. The New Hope Pride festival actually spans two towns in two different states — Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA, and the events range from a huge pride parade (obvs) to dance parties and educational events spread out over the course of a week.

If you’re in New Hope, you can spend the week leading up to pride weekend checking out local restaurants and bars to vote in the Best Cocktail competition currently underway as part of the festivities and seeing the Equality exhibit at Perry Mansion. This weekend, on May 11th, there will a big reveal of the pride flag along with a special flag tribute. Next week brings more festivities, with a drag show on Monday, bingo on Tuesday, and pride night trivia on Thursday. There will also be the chance to learn more about LGBTQ issues around the world in a Global LGBTQ voices forum on Thursday and a screening of the historic film “Paris is Burning” (complete with wine and cheese tasting) on Friday.

As for the parade? Pride fest weekend will kickoff on Saturday. The parade starts in Lambertville, NJ and crosses over the bridge to New Hope, PA at 11:30 am. Expect participation from local and regional LGBTQ+ groups and supportive allies. After you get your fill of rainbow beads and taking pictures with your fellow queers on the parade route, head over to Pridefest live in Pride Park for more entertainment, vendors, and tons of food and drinks from local vendors. Pride Park will stay open until 4:30, but don’t worry if you’re not done partying because you can get tickets to New Hope Celebrate’s fundraiser at the Clarion to keep the celebration going for a $15 door cover.

On Sunday, you can join in the Sunday Funday T-Dance & Pool Party with DJ KRK at the Clarion for $15, or head over to Havana at 105. S Main street for the Ladies 2000 Annual Pride Party, with DJ Steven Singer and drink and food specials.

You can get the full calendar and info about visiting New Hope for pride on their calendar.
