Miley Cyrus has separated from her husband, and the world found out via some photos of her making out with another woman.
Miley is currently on vacation in Lake Como in Italy with Brody Jenner’s ex, Kaitlynn Carter. Both women have been showing off their vacation on social media all week long.
On Friday, Miley and Kaitlynn were seen in photographs cuddling, kissing and swimming at the Il Sereno hotel. An eyewitness source told ET that the girls were “not trying to hide it at all” and that there were plenty of bystanders at the pool. The pair also went out on a date.
“They were fully on a date, getting drinks, just the two of them. They even got a couple massages at the hotel,” the eyewitness told ET.
Given that Miley is still legally married to Liam, fans were obviously pretty confused. Later on Friday, a rep revealed in a statement that the couple has split up.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” the rep said. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
Kaitlynn, on the other hand, announced her separation from Brody last week.
Miley came out as pansexual in 2015. Earlier this year, she opened up about her “modern” cishetero marriage and her queer identity.
“I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women,” she told Elle in July.
She added to Vanity Fair that “a big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person.”
Another source told ET that Liam is “hurt” but “not surprised” by Miley’s rebound fling with Kaitlynn. The two have been married for less than a year.
