“In Bloom”: Isle of Klezbos sextet at El Sol Brillante Garden

ISLE of KLEZBOS sextet brings their “rapturous & rollicking” spin on diasporic Yiddish culture and Klezmer music back to El Sol Brillante Garden for a joyous East Village performance, outdoors & free of charge, celebrating  the band’s eclectic exuberance & neighborhood roots as well as the musical & history of nearby 2nd Avenue, aka the erstwhile “Yiddish Rialto.” The powerhouse, fun-loving all-gal band comes back to the beloved Garden to celebrate Pride Month and East Village roots, bringing Jazz Tap dyke dance divas Laraine Goodman & Margaret Morrison as MC performers, with a reprise as well by esteemed poet & dedicated lesbian feminist Yiddishist Bundist Irena Klepfisz (born 1941 in the Warsaw Ghetto). In case of rain, event moves to Sixth Street Synagogue.
