The Lesbian Herstory Archive’s Annual Dyke Prom is back for its 2nd year! Join us for a night of dancing, prom merch, raffles, photos and sexy fun—all to raise money for the Lesbian Herstory Archives! This year’s theme is Leather & Lace, so wear your hottest fits. ACCESS PROTOCOLS: Our categories were heavily informed by and adapted from Laila R. Makled @out_there_communication on Instagram. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including our Disabled community members, to engage. We welcome feedback on our access protocols. • IMMUNE ACCESS: We acknowledge that rapid tests are a last resort option and are less effective against these variants and are prioritizing PCR approaches if available. Please avoid high risk activities 3-5 days before and mask in indoor/crowded spaces 5 days before prom.1) Masking is strongly encouraged throughout the space with KN95 and similar masks provided! 2) Proof of COVID vaccinations and booster will be checked at the door! 3) same day rapid test OR three day PCR required for entry! 4) We will also have HEPA air purifiers equal to the square footage at the event.
• EVERYONE must either take a rapid test within 12hrs of your arrival to Prom or a PCR taken within 3 days of the event. We acknowledge that rapid tests are a last resort option and are less effective against these variants. We are prioritizing PCR approaches. Be prepared to show proof of a negative COVID test at the door or a picture with a timestamp; we are checking! You are NOT permitted to take off your mask if you have not had those checked. We encourage masking throughout the space. We will have KN95 and equivalent masks ready at the door. • PHYSICAL ACCESS: The Gemini and Scorpio Loft event space has a 6.9×9 foot elevator, accessible dance floor, and a gender neutral bathroom with three stalls total – two of the stalls are ADA compliant. The venue includes seating on couches, lounges, and chairs. You can view the space floorplan linked here. We will be running a shuttle from train stations and bus stops to the event – look out for that schedule one week before the event.
• SENSORY ACCESS: There will be DJs playing music all night long. We will provide earplugs at the front check-in area. To ensure a healthy and accessible environment for attendees with environmental sensitivities, please refrain from wearing scented products, including perfumes, colognes, lotions, and scented hair products.
• NEURODIVERSE ACCESS: We will send a run of show out to all ticket holders before the event. During the event, you can ask any of the volunteers wearing lanyards any questions. Participation in the raffle, photographs, and other activities is optional. We have layered photography consent where individuals opt in. Additionally, we will have printed programs with all this information.
