Following its award-winning 2025 world premiere at the Gene Frankel Theatre Festival, where it received Best Play – One Act, Anne of a Thousand Faces returns in a substantially revised and expanded version.
An actor arrives to audition for the role of Anne Boleyn. What begins as a reading quickly becomes something stranger: an experiment in which she is forced to inhabit the competing versions of Anne that history has created over five centuries—lover, seductress, witch, victim, revolutionary, martyr, muse—while a fictional audience-modeling system measures which version people will believe.
Darkly funny, theatrical, and increasingly unsettling, Anne of a Thousand Faces explores power, ambition, authorship, technology, and what happens when everyone thinks they already know who a woman is.
Written by Edward Gibbons-Brown and directed by Jasmine Jade Binder, the production stars Bonnie Lawrence, Edward Gibbons-Brown, and Jasmine Jade Binder.
Presented in a double bill with Meny Beriro’s psychological thriller The Rubout. Total running time is approximately 110 minutes, including one intermission.
