Sapphic City is heading out of NYC and up to Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard for an afternoon of apple picking, pumpkins, cider donuts, hayrides, live music, fall photos, food, drinks, and good old-fashioned wandering around a farm looking cute in a sweater.

And we picked a GOOD weekend because October 17 falls during Harvest Moon’s BBQ, Beer & Bourbon Fest weekend. 🥃🍺🍖

So whether your ideal fall day is picking apples with the kids, sipping hard cider with your boo, eating BBQ with the homies, finding the perfect pumpkin, or taking 75 pictures before deciding which three make the group chat…

🍎 WHAT’S AT THE FARM?
Harvest Moon’s Fall Festival takes over the farm throughout September and October, and there’s a LOT happening.
Your farm admission includes access to:
🍎 Apple orchard — wander their scenic hillside orchard and pick your own apples
🎃 Pumpkin patch — find your future jack-o’-lantern or the pumpkin that’s about to sit untouched on your kitchen table until Thanksgiving
🚜 Hayrides around the farm
🎶 Live music
🐮 Fun Zone with an obstacle course, Farm Hoppers + family activities
📸 Fall photo ops because obviously
🛍️ Farm Country Store with seasonal goodies
🍺 Hard cider made right at Harvest Moon

Some food, drinks, pumpkins and activities/purchases cost extra beyond admission, and apple-picking bags are an additional charge.

Yes, this is a family-friendly Sapphic City outing.
And yes, the grown folks can still have a little fun. 😂
October 17 is part of Harvest Moon’s BBQ, Beer & Bourbon Fest weekend, so expect an especially delicious fall-festival situation alongside the farm’s regular seasonal activities.

Obviously, alcohol is 21+ only, and nobody needs to drink to come hang with us.
You can be here for bourbon.
You can be here for pumpkins.
You can be here because your child has decided that choosing an apple directly from a tree is the most exciting thing that has ever happened.

🕑 OUR PLAN
1PM — Meet the Sapphic City crew! 🍂
We’ll gather, make introductions, and then folks can explore based on what they’re most interested in.

🍎 APPLE PICKERS: Start here!
Harvest Moon’s orchard entrance closes at 4:15PM, so if picking your own apples is high on your list, we recommend heading into the orchard shortly after we meet.
Apple-picking bags are purchased separately from admission.

🎃 PUMPKIN PEOPLE: The pumpkin patch stays open until 5PM.
🍺 HERE FOR THE VIBES PEOPLE: Grab some food or cider, listen to the live music, take a hayride, explore the farm, and hang out with the community.

The Fall Festival runs until 5PM.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY-FRIENDLY ≠ KIDS REQUIRED
As always, we’re intentionally making room for the sapphics in our community who are parents, caregivers, aunties, tíes, and chosen family.
Kids are absolutely welcome.

But please hear us clearly:
YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE CHILDREN TO COME. 😂
Come with your kids.
Come with your girlfriend.
Come with your friends.
Come with your chosen family.
Come by yourself and meet ours.
It’s a Sapphic City fall day — not a children’s field trip.

We’ll make introductions and help folks connect when we meet at 2PM.

You don’t need to already know somebody to come to a Sapphic City outing.
That’s the whole point.
Come solo. Leave with community.
And possibly several pounds of apples you wildly overestimated your ability to eat. 🍎

🚗 IMPORTANT: THIS ONE REQUIRES A CAR
Unlike some of our other Sapphic City outings, Harvest Moon is NOT one of our public-transit-friendly trips.
Please plan on driving or carpooling.
If you’re coming with friends, fill that car up! If you’re attending solo and hoping to coordinate transportation with other attendees, keep an eye on Sapphic City communications as we get closer to the event.
Parking at Harvest Moon is free.

🎟️ VERY IMPORTANT — TWO SEPARATE REGISTRATIONS!
Your Sapphic City registration and Harvest Moon admission are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.
Your Sapphic City registration covers participation in our organized community outing.
It DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR ADMISSION TO HARVEST MOON FARM & ORCHARD.
Every attendee is responsible for purchasing their own Fall Festival ticket directly from Harvest Moon.
Harvest Moon warns that peak fall dates frequently sell out in advance and says guests should NOT expect tickets to be available at the gate. Purchase your farm ticket online ahead of time!
Your Harvest Moon ticket is what gets you onto the farm.
Your Sapphic City registration is what lets us know you’re coming with our crew. 🧡
YOU NEED BOTH.

⚠️ A FEW FARM THINGS TO KNOW
Harvest Moon is an active farm, so expect grass, gravel, hills and uneven terrain. Comfortable shoes are your friend.
The farm specifically notes that apple picking is not handicap accessible.
🐕 Harvest Moon is a pet-free property, with service animals permitted.
🍎 Apple-picking bags cost extra.
🎃 Pumpkins are an additional purchase.
🍔 Food + beverages are available for purchase.
🍺 Alcoholic beverages are 21+ with valid ID.
🎟️ Harvest Moon says its ticket sales are final and nonrefundable unless the farm cancels the event.
