Video Of The Day: Republican Lawmaker Walks Right Into His Own Trap On Pronouns

A Wyoming lawmaker just learned the hard way that his anti-trans bill applies to him, too.
Wyoming Republicans got a taste of their own legislation last week—and the irony was impossible to ignore. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, Britt Boril of Casper, Wyoming, began her testimony by addressing committee chair Sen. Tim French (R) as “Madam Chairman.” When French pushed back, insisting on “Mr. Chairman,” Boril coolly reminded him that lawmakers had just passed a bill stating no one can be forced to use someone’s preferred pronouns.

That sharp clapback set the stage for Boril’s testimony against yet another anti-trans bill, the so-called “What Is a Woman” Act. She called out the legislation as dangerous, invasive, and a waste of time compared to real issues affecting Wyoming citizens. But before she even got to that, she made her point loud and clear—using lawmakers’ own words against them.
