Video Of The Day: Kristen Stewart Has Some Strong Words For Book Banners

January 9, 2025

Kristen Stewart looks into the camera on the street in NYC

K Stew loves books and we love K Stew.

Reading is what? Fundamental. And Kristen Stewart is reading would-be book banners for filth in today’s Video of the Day. The Love Lies Bleeding star also recites her ABCs of librarian appreciation, giving the clip a wholesome vibe that makes us love her even more.

Banning LGBTQ+ books, threatening to ban LGBTQ+ books, and spreading lies about what’s actually in LGBTQ+ books, have become more socially acceptable as society leans to the right and fear tactics go unchecked. But K Stew isn’t having it.

“I would just like to extend my deep gratitude to those fighting book bans,” Stewart says in the below video, shared by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

She continues: “Primarily, the librarians of the world who protect children…and human beings of all ages in an oasis of knowledge and words and information. To limit that is asinine, evil, violent. Thank you for protecting us and caring.”
