The Very Best Of Halloween In NYC

Village Halloween Parade, Blood Manor and more…

-HALLOWEEN-

For one night only (Oct 27), at the Highline Ballroom, check out a performance of  the classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch, starring award-winning Jonathan Whitton in the title role. This will be a special Halloween extravaganza unlike any other.

No NYC holiday could be complete without a parade, and Halloween is far from an exception. Join thousands of people as they adorn themselves in costumes you couldn’t have imagined in your wildest dreams (or nightmares)! The Village Halloween Parade marches down 6th Avenue on the 31st.

If drag queens and political satire aren’t what Halloween means to you, try checking out the much more tame Park Slope Halloween Parade, which marches down 7th Avenue. Just beware of all the spooky little children.

Exhibitionists of the pumpkin patch sort can carve up something erotic and enter it into Babeland’s 1st Annual Sexy Jack-O-Lantern Contest. Entries will be collected between the 29th and 31st at the Mercer Street location. See Web site for details.

On the scarier end of the spectrum are two ghoulish haunted houses worth checking into. Just make sure you can check yourself out with all your parts in tact! Blood Manor is a frightful, high-end experience packed full of live actors and make-up magic that will have your heart racing. It runs through the 30th above Home Nightclub. On the east side of town at CSV Cultural Center is Nightmare, which runs through the 8th of November and has been rated America’s #1 Haunted House by AOL City Guide.
