LOVE BEYOND BORDERS, FEB 17
It’s not often that lezzies get to party at the U.N.! Sir Sabrina and GLAAD invite globally minded gals to help kick off the “Love Beyond Borders: Equality and Acceptance for All” campaign, sponsored by the gay-welcoming Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office. The goal? Raise money and awareness to secure equal rights for LGBT folks all around the world, and that’s a mission we can all get behind. DJs Bill Coleman and Whitney Day provide the soundtrack to a one-hour open bar with complimentary horsd’oeuvres and following cocktail soiree. Join your altruistic peers and make a lasting difference.

GET IT!, FEB 28

We hear that last month’s Get It! at the hot Williamsburg gay bar Sugarland was wall-to-wall women. The new monthly party hopes to go weekly in the future, but until then, DJs Soozee, Elli Vader and Lezz Van Halen will be spinning an eclectic fusion of 80s, 90s and electro jams on the last Tuesday of the month. Sugarland’s long, skinny space makes mingling mandatory near the bar, but toward the back, the dance floor opens up and is usually packed. On stage, go-go goddesses Elyse and Angela encourage you to get in the mood while Mila mixes $6 dirty martinis and doles out two-for-one beers and signature shots. Don’t miss this month’s installment!

REBEL CUPCAKE 23, MAR 8

Break out your Aquanet and neon eyeliner for this flamboyant dance party “for all shapes and flavors”! Hostess extraordinaire Bevin Branlandingham presents the 23rd installment of her popular monthly party Rebel Cupcake at Sugarland with a New Wave theme. Mixing DJ sounds with live burlesque and bands, Rebel Cupcake is more artsy salon than ragin’ kegger. DJ Bryan Black kicks the night off with slow jams and Riot Grrrl classics, followed by a special 20-minute performance by the World Famous *BOB,* burlesque legend and self-described New Wave teen. Princess Tiny and the Meats rocks her goth-tinged hits after that, and late-night dancing lasts far into the night. Plus, free cupcakes!
