With every image, interview, teaser, and trailer, our anticipation for Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma from Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow) grows. But with the latest — and likely final — trailer dropping today, that excitement has officially exploded.
The film stars actresses Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson. Einbinder plays a woman intent on making a sequel to the fictional classic slasher series Camp Miasma, who tracks down the original final girl, played by Anderson. In the years following the film, Anderson’s character has become a recluse, now living on the site of the original movie and shrouded in mystery. When the two connect, something sparks between them, and they fall into a “blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.”
The new trailer gives us our best look yet at exactly what that means, and it’s just as visually arresting, mind-bending, and sapphically steamy as we could have hoped.
The film also stars Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven. It premieres in theaters Aug. 7. Check out the trailer below.
